  • Health and science communication: Health and science communication: analysis of health information presentation from different perspectives (german: "Rezeption"); TV content analysis of science reporting, experiment aubout analysis of health information from different perspectives (german: Rezeptionsexperimente); risk communication and consumer protection; crisis communication and food safety; knowledge transfer and policy advice.
  • Social integration: Media and (dis)integration, discrimination and tolerance in intergroup relations; Linguistic Intergroup Bias (LIB) and Linguistic Category Model (LCM); Strategic Framing and Social Media Engagement; Media Consultation and Program Oversight.

  • 2021: Appointment as a full member of the BfR Commission for Risk Research and Risk Perception at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin for the term of 2022 - 2025.
  • Since 2021: Research projects on health literacy and health communication in the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Since 2016: Member of the Assembly of the Thuringian State Media Authority (TLM) in Erfurt (as representative of the Thuringian universities)
